People can consume music videos though T.V., computers, tablets, phone and websites. This has changed because it start with only MTV being the first music channel, it was launched on the 1st of august 1981. They aimed

Michael Jackson has the most expensive music video of all time with him spending $7,000,000. This had his sister Janet and was about the paparazzi leaving him alone. It was written by them and produced by them as well with help from Jerry Jam and Terry Lewis. The style was a Japanese anime, with a space shit and new types of technology

Youtube became available in 2005, then in 2006 then got bought by google. Recently the most video music video is PSY's Gangnam Style the successes of this video is because of his

Planning colour and lighting

Colour and lighting is important because it affect the quality of the recording, with bad lighting the video will look bad because the artist wouldn't be in the spot light. It also affect the mood because if the song is about sad times there will be not might lighting but if its a happy dance song it will have bright lights with colours. A red stoplight will alway represent danger, while blue will show loneliness.

Our scene in the forest will be done on a bright day showing that this was a happy day in the past, by having it so bright and sunny the audience can see that this was a happy time for both people. When she is on her own we will move to the shade showing that she is lonely this will be very affective because it will be so clear we might also put a filter over this to make it more affective. We will use the same idea when filming the tree shot because this is the part where they become distant, and the tare in there relationship starts to show.

Fireworks
We have planned to do some filming at night time meaning we will have to use a spot light to even see the artist. The spot light represents that everything around her doesn't matter. But this also shows that they are in a dark place in there relationship, we will add smoke to make it seem even more dark and mysterious. We will also be using her dancing with sparklers this will reflect that when when things are dark she carries on happily. The fireworks are there to show all the little arguments arising making cracks and distance between them. Conventions of a dance video are that they are either are all dark with a spot light or something to make the main artist more visible, or they are in high light and the artist is centre.

We are going to record her dancing in a bath room and getting ready for a party this will have to be very bright because of her over coming being with this guy. This will also work well with the all white and black bath room, making it all seem high contrast. This will also make her seem more angelic and pure to the audience. Though out the video when a certain sound is made we are going to use a filter the splits her into 3 different people this will reflects on the different stages of the video, green will be happiness, blue will be sadness, while red will be anger I think this affect will be more affective.

Within the night club we have decided to have blue and white flashing lights, this is conventional to have flashing party lights in a dance video. The blue will show that she is now lonely and lost. We are aiming to bring a spot light as well so that she stands out more then everyone else surrounding her, and she will also wear a bright red dress which will help her stand out more.

Lyrics Annotations

I annotated the words of the song so that we could make sense of it within our music video. This gave us a greater idea on what we should include and of what they storyline should include and it also helped us with organising what camera shots we needed for it to look realistic but also connect with the lyrics. We found that the song had some strong meanings behind it, this was interesting for us and helped us plan a storyline that would shock and interest the audience. Some of the lyrics included 'Your my everything' meaning someone is telling them how much they care and love someone. It also had 'It isn't the shit in my head' meaning the person they are with have problems with them thinking they are cheating, which is wrecking the relationship. From the information we have gained from analysing what the song is about we have made a storyline of the main character being with a guy and slowly he distances and cheats on her she finds out and just moves on like most girls should do. This also makes the artist more realistic for her going through normal troubles of a girl.

We also from this saw what camera shots we could use with the pace of the song, we come to the agreement that we would use a repeat shot when words have been repeated, so that there is a connection between visuals and lyrics. When the lyrics are more dark or upsetting 'Pulling me under this time' we have decided to make it so that we will have high angles making her seem more upset and weak this is a conventional thing to do. When she is singing about how much she loves him we will have static angles so that they seem happy and equal and on the same level. As the song progresses the music gets more faster so we will have to change the camera shots more often, making all different angles when we have low angles she is happy and she is partying. Also we have made higher angles when she is crying and she in the bath because she is angry/sad.

Storyboards

The purpose of a storyboard is that you make it so that the whole group know what they are doing and when it comes to filming they know what to do in order. It will also help with what angles and shot should be used. We used our questionnaires to see what we should include like the bass speaker and what artist would be best to use. The public like the use of filters and revering shots to make them more effective. Looking at similar artist also help with what we should include within it, because they use a lot of still images that are used more as imagery to the song and have thing that are shown at the beginning and then made sense of.

My job was to was to draw the storyboards and think of the ideas but also Jordan helped with ideas on what to use though out working though it. We also looked at other music videos that had similar artist so that we could have some same scenes and angles so it would look alike the other videos. When filming we changed some of what was going to happen with out music video due to people not being free when we needed to film and not being able to get to all the locations. But we still used the same theme, and used most of the same settings and also stuck to the same angles and lighting. By having the storyboard we knew how much we needed to film and what different things we needed to film so that the music video wasn't boring or seem like it was repetitive. We ended up filming over 150 different videos so that we knew we would have the same thing over and over again. We also used 10 different scenes so the music video could flow throughout.
